The month of September has been wet, to say the least. Now may be a good time to determine where some of that excess moisture in your basement or crawlspace is coming from.

There are a number of things that contribute to moisture infiltration.

First, you'll want to take a walk around the perimeter of your home and examine the grade. The ground leading up to your home should be pitched downward, away from the building.

While you're outside, inspect the gutters. Gutters should be pitched downward toward the downspout, and free of debris. Run-offs should be run 3-5 feet away from the building.

Now, take a trip into your basement or crawlspace. Since we've had all this rain, major leaks should be fairly easy to spot.

If you have serious water leakage, contact us. We will evaluate your need for water mitigation and help you be on your way to a happier, healthier home!
