The Facility Technician is responsible for minor repairs and maintenance of a specific facility, acting as the contact for emergency situations. Additionally, the Facilities Technician will assess and consider the safety of the employees, the security of the assets, and the service to the facility.
Basic Functions
Perform various mechanical monthly tests
Assist in surveying and monitoring building conditions and make suggestions for repair and improvements that make the workspace more comfortable and well-lit
Daily administrative duties related to paperwork to manage and oversee
Organizes and coordinates routine maintenance duties, such as those that are needed to keep up building appearances and keep building safe, sanitary and free from environmental hazards
Checks equipment for potential hazards and make sure needed equipment, such as fire extinguishers and safety/intrusion alarms, are in good working order
Maintains work orders and coordination of routine equipment
Provides and repairs signs and lighting
Performs inspections of the building for items that may need repair
Essential Functions
Monitors contractor performance and works closely with outside vendors and contractors to ensure work is completed according to specifications
Assists with maintaining building security
Monitors and replaces light bulbs in all assigned facilities, as needed
Makes minor plumbing repairs, as necessary
Performs basic electrical work and determines when an electrician is required
Performs other maintenance duties as assigned

Must have flexible hours
Must be organized and provide deliverables in support of project plans
Must be experts with their hands and be analytical enough to determine which tools are needed for which job
Be motivated and organized, ably following blueprints and directions needed for repairs
Must have basic understanding of how things work (facility-related)
Understand and follow oral and written instructions
Ability to prioritize and manage multi-functional tasks
Ability to work effectively under pressure, and against strict time constraints
Ability to use standard powered and non-powered tools
