On my way back from LEED Green Rater Training and the RESnet 2011 conference in Orlando, Florida.
The weather and the conference were amazing. It is a treasure to be amongst the finest energy professionals in the world.
I attend five straight days of advanced training and while I always welcome high level learning - I am ready to climb into an attic! The advanced LEED certification is on the way and I will be a Green Rater in a month or so, once I finish my mentorship.
LEED is light years ahead of energy efficiency and EVERYTHING must be accomplished with as little waste as possible. If you ever have a couple of hours, google their requirements and you will see. In a perfect world, I would love to see LEED buildings being built and if you have money and interest - I can certainly guide and certify your project.
RESnet training was advanced too and I spent twenty total hours in class over three days. From software to Energy Star version 3, the training is unmatched. The industry is growing rapidly and I would hope the advanced methods and requirements necessary to accomplish this energy efficiency shift in this country is understood by the business or home owner. The estimate for the tools and the training for this field are now set just under $20,000 – this is just for the entry level! Consider the money RESnet raters and companies invest when you see the cost of a certified energy audit. RESnet is following BPI now with their contractor model. To do the job right costs money in equipment, training and experience – a lot of it! But, doing the job right saves the most energy possible! When a RESnet rater examines and reports on your home - you are getting the latest and greatest professional - I urge you to value any time spent with us and realize we are scrutinized to the 10th degree. The result for you captures the most amount of energy saved. This translates into money saved as rising energy costs occur more frequently. Saving energy means saving money and provides a comfortable and more valued home. It's not over yet though - Easy Energy USA is attending one more conference in PA next week and new programs are being announced in PA to save energy. Stay tuned and schedule an energy audit with a certified RESnet rater with Easy Energy USA today!  Rob R.
